Mrs Winkler's Magic House

This book has been a long time in the making. I wrote the story some years ago but only completed illusreating it myself recently. I really enjoyed illustrating on a course at Dillington House in Somerset. it is available as a printed book on Am.azon. here is the link and it costs under £4 purchase here Mrs Winkler's Magic House has a personality of its own.The house really was quite upset when Mrs Winkler decided to sell and made mischief for the new owner.

Self-Publish?

Self Publish? March 23, 2017 How do we go about finding a publisher when we have that piece of writing that has been written and edited? Make no mistake it is very hard. The Artist Year Book has a list of Agents and finding an agent is the best way to get a publisher. there are however many publishers accepting unsolicited manuscripts. However, more and more of us are going down the self-publishing route. Amazon give a very good service now on kindle and print on demand and they have cornered the market on self-publishing. You have to wait a period before you can then publish on other sites such as Kobo. Amazon, however, do not help all that much with publicising your book, and it is essential to get reviews. This week's prompt - Cats

This is Millie . We lost her about two years ago. When I went to Elizabeth Rapp's writing course at www.dillingtonhouse.co.uk I wrote a couple of things one prose; one poetry. Millie and Poppy were a gift. My boss's daughter was having a difficult time. Her daughter, his granddaughter was very poorly and they were going regularly to Musgrove Hospital. Colin asked if anyone could take her cats as they were becoming too much for his daughter. Millie was the placid one, the one that looked after Poppy. Of course they were at first confused by their new home. Millie had a lovely personality. My son Tim visited and took Millie for a walk in the garden while he smoked a cigarette. From then on the garden became Millie's territory and going for a walk became a ritual for anyone who would go with her. We grew to love her quiet presence and when John, my husband and I were out in our garden she was not far, either sitting on a stone or hiding under a bush camouflaged...
