There are several ways to get started in writing. Make a list of things that occur to you and references of your own experience. But the best way is to just dive in and write the first thing that come to mind for five minutes. Read what you have written and then go back and edit and refine. Sing Softly,….
Somewhere in Africa
Leaves tremble in trees.
Birds on the wire
Listen to the breeze.
Like arrows in the sky,
Young and old, decide to fly.
Across land, across oceans
Their quest never rests
To reach the exact place
Of their previous nest.
Like the primordial turning of the planets in time
This signal of Spring, this dart winged bird is sublime.
Sing softly for the swallows have returned.
As forefathers and their forefathers
Sang softly, sang softly
For the swallows have returned.
